| Veteran stylist Brenda Berry opened Brilli Salon – a style lounge in October 2005. The distinctive destination is a boutique salon that specializes in hair cut and color, offering incredible waxing, glycolic peels, make-up and spray tan. All stylists specialize in both cut and color which translates into a masterpiece of beauty. The style is cohesive and extraordinary, because a single stylist manifests her expertise and vision. Each stylist is hand picked for the top notch “Brilli Brand of Beauty Work.” Stylists are chosen based on amazing qualities of aesthetic instinct, good energy and a disciplined and frequent regime of training. Education is at the forefront of Brilli Salon’s philosophy; in house Redken, Bumble and Bumble classes, and Epicuren skin-care classes take place every month as well as on-site Institutes from New York to Los Angeles.
The salon’s design, a vision Berry has had for years, is meant to showcase the creative arts on all levels. Inspired by urban hotel properties, the design of the space is clean and clear. Upon entering the first things you might notice are the warm-toned walls and chandeliers, but don’t let the comforting girly-girly décor fool you – Brilli means business. Those golden walls are decorated with the work of Chicago artists. The Style Lounge has a beautiful mix of eclectic pieces, custom-made bamboo front desk and styling stations, a VIP waiting room - and though it sounds extravagant, a feeling of simplicity is present. Even the lighting at the stations is soft and flattering. Brilli Salon hosts Style Lounge parties which feature a focus on fashion. After hours the Salon turns “Lounge”, with cocktails and a seasonal fashion theme. It’s about head to toe style at the Style Lounge. Stylists unlock the mystery of coifing hair at home with consultations, lessons and demonstrations, anything you ever wanted to know such as blow dry techniques, quickie up-dos or styles for the guys. The guests (some existing and some new) receive more advice from the fabulous esthetician about new technology of glycolic peels or the ultimate brow shape. Brilli is the first in Chicago to offer the South Seas Spray Tan, which celebrities on the west coast are addicted to. The Style Lounge is also the place for Rock-n-Roll hair. Buckcherry, a Grammy nominated L. A. band, Matt Walker the former drummer of The Smashing Pumpkins and many other local legends from jazz greats to up and coming rockers are on Brilli’s A-list. Brilli manager Jeff Pierce even teaches Rock-n-Roll fashion workshops at the Paul Green School of Rock. Not only is Brilli Salon giving more to its clients, it also gives to the community. Berry is an advocate of charity work. Private make-over parties are held for a local battered women’s shelter.
